In June 2015 the 11th International Festival of the Police Orchestras and Choirs will take place in the city of Prague. Ninety-five ensembles from Austria, Denmark, England, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, the Phillipines, Poland, Sweden, Switzerland, USA and the Czech Republic took part in the 10 last successful courses of the festival, which came to life in June1995.
The aim of this event is to promote close personal contact among the "guardians of the law" of these countries which is extremely important for cooperation of the police at the international level.
During the four days of their stay in Prague, the orchestras and the choirs will perform publicly in concert halls, gardens and on the largest squares of the city. They will also take part in Prague Castle concert, a parade in the city centre with a final concert in the city centre.
The festival organiser is The Band of the Castle Guards and Police of the Czech Republic (which this year celebrates 70 years of its existence) in cooperation with BP Promotion festival agency under the patronage of the Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of the Czech Republic Mr. Milan Štěch, the Police President of the Czech Republic Mr. Tomáš Tuhý and the cty mayor of Prague Mrs. Adriana Krnáčová.
