International Choir Competition of Sacred Music
Prague, 29.9. - 2.10. 2011



1st course of International choir competition PRAGA CANTAT - MUSICA ECUMENICA will take place in Prague in October 2011. The competition is open to all types of non-professional choirs. The choirs can choose their programme from a wide range of Christian as well as Jewish music. The participants will have enough time to explore Christian and Jewish heritage of Prague. Long lasting coexistence of both of these cultures is unique and still well-visible in Prague.



29.9. 2011 / Thursday

 

Arrival to Prague, meeting with your Czech guide, check-in Individual programme (possible visit of opera performances, Black light theatre, folklore evening, etc.)

30.9. 2011 / Friday

Group breakfast in the hotel

Official opening of the festival

Guided city tour throught the Old town, focussing on ecclesiastical historical monuments in Prague

Joint lunch of all participants in the city centre

Separate concerts in Prague churches (St. Salvator, St. Nicholas)
Performances at Senior Homes
Evening optional - Vltava river ship cruise with dinner.....

We can prepare extra programme (trips out of Prague to ecclesiastical places - Stará Boleslav, Kutná hora, Želiv, Příbram, Zbraslav - extra performances etc.) and also trips to the castles such as Konopište, Karlštejn, Křivoklát, Glass factory Nižbor etc. for those choirs who would like to extend their staying in Prague.
